Wimberley is located in the Central Flyway and enjoys, in addition to native birds, those who come through to visit on their way north or south in the fall and spring.
The rivers and creeks attract waterbirds like the native Blue Heron, the Green Heron, Cormorants, and a huge variety of ducks. One flock of geese in particular are volunteer sentinels on River Road, beloved by nearly all who see them...even those who must stop and wait for them to cross.
