Rehearsals begin for Fall, 2004

Singers, start warming up for rehearsals with the Community Chorus in Wimberley, beginning on Monday, September 13, 2004 at 6:45 p.m. Rehearsals will take place at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church, 956 RR 2325, located opposite the high school. If you cannot make it for the initial rehearsal on the 13th, come on the following Monday, September 20.

It may be called the Wimberley Community Chorus, but its singers come from many of our Hays County cities and their surrounding areas. If you have a choral voice and enjoy professionally directed choral singing, you are invited to come, and you will be cordially welcomed.

This fall Dripping Springs resident, Penny Gabrielsen, a University of Texas music graduate, will direct the Chorus. Penny serves as a judge of chorus competitions throughout the state, and is a music clinician for a number of choral groups. Currently the accompanist for the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Dripping Springs, she is also a music teacher at Austin's St. Gabriel's School. Penny and her husband Tom, a music director himself, moved to the Dripping Springs area in 1999.

Three Community Chorus performances are scheduled for the first weekend in December.
