|Culpepper and Merriweather Circus, America’s favorite old-fashioned Big Top circus, is coming to Wimberley, Monday, March 25th for two performances: 5 and 7:30 p.m. -- at the Veterans Park rodeo grounds on Jacob’s Well Rd.
Tickets are on sale Saturday at Brookshire Brothers all day and can also be purchased at the Visitor’s Center.
In its 19th season, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus has become internationally known for quality family entertainment. This authentic one-ring, big top circus has been featured on National Geographic’s Explorer TV series, Entertainment Tonight and, most recently, on the A&E special: “Under the Big Top.”
The all-star group of performers includes clowns, high wire aerialists, trapeze artists and the largest members of the circus family -- African elephants Barbara and Connie.
Everyone is invited to watch the big top being erected the way its been done for over 200 years -- with elephant power. Tent raising is at 9 a.m. -- followed by a free endangered species show at 10 a.m.
Advance discount tickets purchased at Brookshire Brothers on Saturday and at the Visitor’s Center are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger (those under 2 are free). Tickets purchased on circus day are $2 more.
