The Wimberley Community Chorus in concert
Under the direction of Anne Pinteric Jones and with Bruce Billingsley at the keyboard, the Wimberley Community Chorus will present "Spring Fling - The Many Faces of Love" at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, the weekend of March 31, 2006  and again at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2.  The performances will take place in the Fellowship Hall of the Chapel In The Hills, 14601 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley.

A delightful mix of yesteryear song, the program is filled with well-known popular music taken from Broadway, Hollywood, Tin Pan Alley and pop charts. Look forward to hearing an emotional array of love ranging from the tender, the endearing, the yearning, the exhilaration, the tribulations, the anguish, and ...sometimes... the pain.

Here are a few of the pieces you will hear:  "As Time Goes By," Hoagy Carmichael's "Georgia On My Mind," Gershwin's "Embraceable You," "Unchained Melody," a Cole Porter medley, "Deep Purple," and "Stormy Weather."

Included also will be "We Are Made for Music," the magnificent piece commissioned last year by the Chorus and written by the well-known choral music composer Joe Martin. This is music that brought the audience to a standing ovation at its initial presentation last December.

Admission is free. Donations to Chorus operating expenses are always welcome.
