See a Great Movie at the Corral Theatre and Benefit the Wimberley Birding Refuge

A picture-perfect evening in early fall, visiting with friends, watching the stars and a first-run movie, and helping the Wimberley Bird Refuge at the same time! It doesn't get much better than this.

Three chances to see Duma...September 15th through the 17th, 2006.
Thanks to Mary Anderson of the Corral Theater in Wimberley, the Wimberley Birding Society will show a movie, Duma, starting at "dark-thirty" on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, September 15, 16 and 17, 2006. All proceeds after expenses will go to the Refuge, our nature sanctuary. The Refuge has benefited from this generous gesture for several years now, and this year's movie is a winner!

The Refuge was established as a 1.8-acre haven for local and migrating birds, other wildlife, insects, and native plants of the Wimberley area.
A gorgeous adventure film set in the exotic country of South Africa, Duma tells the powerful adventure tale of an unbreakable bond of friendship between a cheetah named Duma and an intrepid young boy named Xan, who faces the true test of love when he must cross the whole of Southern Africa to return his best friend to his rightful home in the wilds. On his journey, Xan learns that everything always changes, but not love. A richly textured family film that will appeal to children and adults alike.

Admission is a $5 donation and exact change is encouraged for change-challenged ticket sellers.

The Corral Theater is located just off Ranch Road 3237 on Flight Acres Road. There's seating on benches and metal chairs or feel free to bring your own folding chairs. Cold drinks and hot popcorn will be available. Come early to avoid the rush.
