Space Chimps to Benefit Friends of the Wimberley Village Library

Space Chimps will embark on a fantastical journey...on benefit the Wimberley Village Library the first weekend in September. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, September 5, 6, & 7, 2008,  the Corral Theatre follows a long tradition of community support by showing a first-run movie in September to benefit a local organization.

The Wimberley Village Library is meaningful to all who live in the area and is continuing to grow and evolve to serve community needs. The purpose of the Friends of the Wimberley Village Library is to promote use of the resources and services of the library and to help provide funds and volunteer assistance.

Anyone may become a member of the Friends by completing a membership application and paying membership dues. Levels of membership range from a $1 contribution for a Youth Membership to a $500 Benefactor Membership, with lots of choices between. It's actually a great bargain, since a membership entitles you to vote at the annual meeting and to receive newsletters, program information and advance notice of book sales and special events.

Even if you're not a member, you and the whole family can have a memorable night watching an intergalactic comedy under the Wimberley Sky in a very special venue. Movies at the Corral begin at "dark-thirty." (Click here to see sunset times.)

The Corral Theatre has long been one of Wimberley's treasures. The open-air theatre, built in 1948, is the only outdoor movie theater in the U.S. that shows first-run films. The Corral has become an icon as one of Wimberley's unique experiences. Don't miss this opportunity to see an entertaining movie, enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars, and benefit the Wimberley Village Library.
