Fundraiser for Bob Fowler, Master Sculptor, in Wimberley, Texas
Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 1 to 5 PM
At the Chapel in the Hills Fellowship Hall
14601 RR 12, Wimberley, Texas
Bob Fowler - Gender Breakthrough
Exhibited here at the 1998 Chicago Pierwalk Show
On December 15, 2007, Robert K. Fowler suffered third degree burns as the result of a welding accident in his studio. Fowler is celebrated worldwide as a master sculptor and has been living in Wimberley for many years. He works in several media, including acrylics, but may have first been introduced to many through his magnificent sculptures commissioned for public places.

Now, there's a way to give back for the decades of pleasure Fowler has given the public through his art. You are invited to an afternoon of fine music and art, potluck, and an opportunity to purchase a work by Fowler. The benefit is held in support of Bob and Diane Fowler to assist in funding his recovery. Bob was initially rushed to intensive care, but at the time of this benefit is in Hill Country Care in Dripping Springs for rehabilitation.

Robert K. Fowler began producing art at nine, and has public pieces in Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. African Elephant, a landmark Fowler sculpture in Cor-ten Steel, has greeted visitors at the West entrance of the Houston Zoo since 1982. Fowler's astonishing work lives in such diverse settings as concert halls (such as Houston's Jones Hall), universities, community centers and banks in New York, Amarillo, and Houston. His work also graces numerous private collections of patrons around the world.

Fowler began working as a full time sculptor in 1963. Among his many awards, he was the first American to win first place in the International Exhibit of Sacred Art, Trieste, Italy, 1966. Fowler is known for portraying dynamic animal forms as well as exciting abstract forms.

Join our community gathering and potluck celebration! Music by The Little Divas, Kim Miller, Andrew Hardin, Dylan Meek, and other fine local musicians.
