Wimberley Players Bring Lively Comedy, Happy Birthday, to the Wimberley Playhouse
Happy Birthday, a comedy by Marc Camoletti. Translated from the French by Beverley Cross, directed by Tysha Calhoun, and produced by Jana White

Hilarious British humor, a skilled director, a popular and talented cast of actors, and the support of an excellent crew make for a delightful experience with the Wimberley Players 2012 opener. This play is the kind of farce reminiscent of the television shows "Keeping Up Appearances" and the madcap Benny Hill.

Imagine Bernard, hero of Happy Birthday, planning to have his mistress Brigit celebrate her birthday at his home without his wife Jacqueline suspecting a thing. He wants his friend Robert to pretend Brigit is his mistress. Only problem, Robert is having an affair with Jacqueline. And someone else named Brigit arrives to complicate matters. Fast-paced dialogue and interactions accelerate to a grand finale, so hang on to your seat for an exhilarating ride!

Director Tysha Calhoun returns to direct Happy Birthday after her successful Playhouse debut directing Arsenic and Old Lace for the Players. Jana White, a skilled veteran of many Players shows, is producer. The stellar cast includes Mike Messinger as Bernard; Carla Daws as Jacqueline, Derek Smootz as Robert, Gina McClure as Brigit 1 and Celeste Coburn as Bridget 2.  Donít miss this show!

Performances are February 3rd through the 26th on Friday and Saturday at 8, Sunday at 2:30 in the Wimberley Playhouse.

Tickets $18, opening night $20 with reception at 7:00. Student rush $10 at the door, one hour prior, except opening night.
