Pet Parade, Picnic, Music and a Blessing of the Pets in Wimberley, Texas: Come Prepared to Smile! and Celebrate the 11th Anniversary of ARF
On Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 9 AM to 1 PM, an event dedicated to pets, complete with blessing, will be held on the EmilyAnn Theatre grounds at 1101 FM 2325 in Wimberley, Texas.
Giving a friend a lift.
Come enjoy a very special day, and bring your furry or feathered friends. The annual Pet Blessing includes food, music, wonderful animals, adoptable pets, a pet parade, a picnic and demonstrations. This is a colorful, heart-warming event for anyone who loves animals, this year held on the grounds of the EmilyAnn Theatre.

Kids of all ages are invited to join the pet parade with their leashed dogs, costumes optional. Enjoy live music, face-painting, llamas, and the blessings of the pets and farm animals.

The theme this year is "Alternative Healthcare for Animals" with demonstrations of aromatherapy, touch, homeopathy, and chiropractic treatment of animals. A cat "whisperer" will discuss and demonstrate kitty behavioral training.

This is the 11th anniversary of ARF (click here for more about ARF). ARF has come a long way, starting with the dream of one person who cared, and is looking toward a future that will include an animal shelter for Wimberley.

For good health and long life for pets (and perhaps that little stray or two who's been hanging around waiting for you to admit you've adopted him or her), at-cost vaccinations for previously spayed/neutered cats and dogs, and at-cost spays/neuters will be available.

It's so nice to have a friend.
Reservations are required beforehand for the spays and neuters, but they're easy to make...just call 512-847-2878 (Emancipet) to get one for your pet.

Time to open your home and heart to a new best friend? There'll be pets available for adoption there, ready to go home with qualified owners.

Food for people and treats for the dogs and cats will be available for purchase. There will also be live music and entertainment. See the full schedule below.

Pats, anyone?

Suggested donation to the event is $2. Patrons donating $6 or more receive a free t-shirt while supplies last. All proceeds benefit ARF Building Fund.

This blessing combines St. Francis' love for animals with community services to help with at-cost vaccinations and neuterings...and make it a fun experience for the whole family.

So bring your (caged or leashed) pet to be blessed, and help our furry friends!

For more information, call (512) 847-6969.
