Second Act Troupe Performs "Chaos on Stage" in Wimberley, Texas

Following their highly successful sold out opening in San Marcos late September, the Second Act Troupe will be giving performances in Wimberley of their highly acclaimed productions of Tad Mosel's "Impromptu" and Christopher Durang's "The Actor's Nightmare" under the umbrella title of "Chaos on Stage".

Charles Ellis, Allan Eastwood and Beverly Galante in a scene from The Actor's Nightmare.
Performances of these one-act comedies will be at the Wimberley United Methodist Church on County Road 1492 on October 24th and 25th at 8 PM. This gala season opener in Wimberley will feature a complimentary snacks and dessert buffet at intermission.

"Impromptu" by Tad Mosel features four itinerant actors played by Carl Galante, Diane Hruska, Dan LaFleur and Ellen Massey. They are thrust onto a bare stage with instructions to improvise a play of some sort. Disagreements resulting in tension among the actors provide many laughs as they struggle to fulfill the direction of their stage manager.

"The Actor's Nightmare," performed after an intermission, is a hilarious comedy by Christopher Durang that presents more chaos on stage as an unrehearsed accountant wanders onto a stage and attempts to perform with Ellen Terry, Sarah Siddons and Henry Irving playing characters in "Private Lives," "Hamlet," and "A Man for all Seasons." The cast includes Charles Ellis, Allan Eastwood, Beverly Galante, Larry Landaker, Ellen Massey and Sandy Zellers.

The Second Act Troupe is comprised of mature and experienced actors well known in area community theatre. The company was invited to become a semi-autonomous division within the San Marcos Performing Arts Association shortly after formation. You won't want to miss these entertaining comedies performed by seasoned actors.

Tickets are $12 at the door and can also be reserved in advance for preferred seating  by Visa or Mastercard by calling (512) 618-3355.
