With a fabulous fall concert under her belt,
Artistic Director Cina Crisara embarks on a journey of fun and frolic
in the annual holiday concert of the Starlight Symphony Orchestra.
Bundle up for A Starlight Christmas, regardless of the Texas penchant
for Indian Summer during the holiday season. The Starlight Symphony
Orchestra will entreat the skies to Let It Snow!" then revel in a White
Christmas. Next, come along with the orchestra on a traditional holiday
tour with a twist: Anderson's Sleigh Ride under special direction. The
lucky winner of a raffle will conduct the piece! Others may win a
chance to "crack the whip" and ring the sleigh bells.
As the snow settles and everyone snuggles under wraps, look for the
sprites in the night with selections from the Nutcracker Ballet Suite.
But be careful to watch out for The Grinch...he's a "Mean One...."
Later, Charlie and friends arrive for A Charlie Brown Christmas. As
clouds part revealing the starlight, everyone will remember that,
indeed, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear. A Silent Night will inspire a
medley of Christmas favorites.
Join the orchestra on this journey by taking a short drive on Saturday,
December 17, 7:30 P.M. to the Blanco County Courthouse. The Blanco
square will be bright with holiday lights. It is the perfect event to
kick off the school holidays.
On Sunday, December 18, 3:30 P.M. take the "sleigh ride" at the
Wimberley High School's Lone Star Theatre. A $5 donation is
suggested for adults at the door, and a reception will follow each
concert. The Starlight Symphony Orchestra is a financially independent
branch of the Wimberley Players and donations are tax-deductible. For
more information, visit the Starlight Symphony Orchestra website or call 512-858-0324.
