The Wimberley Valley Art League 2006 Artist's Studio Tour
"Rock Bluff" - Art by Betty Rhodes, one of the artists whose studio will be featured on the 2006 tour.

The Wimberley Valley Art League (WVAL) announces its 2006 Artist Studio Tour on September 15th and 16th.
The studios of nine nationally-known area painters, sculptors, metal workers and multi-media artists will be featured in the 2006 Artist Studio Tour sponsored by the Wimberley Valley Art League. Each studio has been selected because it represents a creative approach to the use of space for art activities. Normally not open to the public, the studios range from garage conversions to warehouses to freestanding backyard studios to architectural gems planned for dual use as studio/guesthouses.

For this special fund-raising event, a $12 ticket provides admission to these private workspaces of the artists and displays of their works, many of which will be offered for sale to benefit the art education projects of WVAL, a non-profit organization. Student price is $6. Tickets will be available mid-August at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and many Wimberley area art galleries.

Modeled on studio tours in other arts centers such as Taos and Santa Fe, the WVAL Artist Studio Tour is a special opportunity for Wimberley residents, visitors and tourists to explore the studios of the following artists: Maxine Price, Bob Fowler, Betty Rhodes, Marianne Vieregg and Keith Sanders, Leah Dunaway, Denny McCoy, Debby Elliott, and Pete Anderson.

A popular feature of past studio tours is being repeated with "Artist Interviews," a video by local filmmakers. The video will be showing continuously at the studio tour starting point where viewers may plan the sequence of their studio visits.

Don't miss this opportunity to see what makes Wimberley an artist's colony with the best!
