TCEQ Public Meeting about Aqua Texas Expansion; Water Matters

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has called a Public Informational Meeting for Friday, February 12, 2010 at 7 PM at Woodcreek City Hall, 41 Champions Circle. The TCEQ has announced that this meeting is "...to answer questions and discuss concerns regarding Aqua Texas' water and wastewater service provided within its certificated service area."
Aqua Texas had applied for a CCN to serve the 50+ acre Westridge property (proposed River Rock development) on Mt. Sharp Road. This application has been withdrawn by ATI since they can legally serve that area under their existing CCN # 11157.
The TCEQ rule (TAC 291.103) states that if their CCN is within 1/4 mile of the area to be served, a formal CCN amendment is not required to provide service to that area. The current ATI CCN ends at Persimmon Drive which is within 1/4 mile of the property in question.
Anyone concerned about actions affecting water matters in the Wimberley area is invited to attend. Parking is limited and carpooling is advised (and earth-friendly!).
