On Saturday, May 7th, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM WAG Rescue will have a dog adoption day. Look for WAG and adoptable dogs at the Quarter Fest that day, by the Cypress Creek bridge in Wimberley, Texas at 14015 RR12. There will be live music and vendors for the Quarter Fest. Admission and parking are free. The location is 14015 RR12, Wimberley.
WAG Rescue is the temporary guardian of rescued dogs. The organization makes every effort to ensure the dogs receive veterinary care, preventive medications, treatments, and provides the loving environment of a foster home.
The goal of WAG Rescue is to help you find the right dog for your family.
Please stop by and see the adoptable dogs. Pepper and her puppies will be there. (See photo above.) Pepper is an 18 month old Border Collie. She was rescued off the streets, skinny, terrified and heartworm positive. After her rescue, WAG volunteers were feeding her as much food as she wanted, thought she was just putting on weight and then realized she was pregnant. She delivered 8 healthy puppies on March 24th. She is a great mom. Her heartworm treatment is obviously delayed.
Pepper will be in the WAG Rescue system quite a while now, and really can use kind sponsors. April 8th the puppies went for their deworming...each of them is over two pounds and all are doing great. On Saturday, the puppies will be 6 weeks old and not quite ready for adoption, but you can come fall in love with one and submit an application.
WAG Rescue also offers the residents of Wimberley no-cost spay or neuter vouchers for their dog through Emancipet. If you need financial assistance getting your dog spayed or neutered please contact us.
The mobile clinic fills up fast. There are only a few spaces for large dogs. For details about Emancipet's mobile clinic and how to make an appointment with Emancipet, please click here.
WAG Rescue would like to thank to the Wimberley community, our supporters and volunteers, who have made such a big difference in the lives of so many dogs.
