A musical celebration of the modern-day dating game, this long running
off-Broadway hit is proudly presented by the Wimberley Players with Lee
Colee'-Atnip as Director, Terri Burney-Bisett as Producer, and a
10-member cast of talented singers and actors, most of whom are
Greenhouse veterans.
Sandy Billings and Marvin Carson appeared in last year's 110 in the
Shade at the Greenhouse, and recently performed at the Opera House in
Pioneer Town with the comedy group, Flashback. Sandy and Marvin
have their first date at a "chick flick."
Calen Cabler was Maria in this summer's The Sound of Music, and
portrays a geeky ingenue in search of Mr. Right. Newcomer Calvin
White of Austin, a new member of Flashback, plays Calen's equally geeky
but earnest lover.
John and Carla Daws, husband and wife in real life, appear together in
a sketch as a frustrated couple too tired for romance, and separately
in the roles of a video dating divorcee' and an out-of-control prison
inmate. Carla starred in the Players' production of Steel Magnolias
earlier this year, and John held a lead role in 110 in the Shade.
Priya Hudson DiTraglia is another Greenhouse veteran, with recent
credits for Steel Magnolias and Jake's Women. Priya plays
multiple roles in various sketches and songs throughout I Love You…to
hilarious effect.
Carl Galente, a newcomer who just joined the Flashbacks, displays his
talent in roles portraying a senior citizen rediscovering his love for
his wife, an obnoxious commercial salesman, a new father, and more.
Two additional newcomers to the Greenhouse Theatre, Judith Driscoll and
Carol Hoffstad, also take on a variety of roles including a nagging
housewife, a busy yuppie businesswoman with no time for traditional
dating habits, a needy single woman, etc., etc.
Now in its 9th year at New York's Westside Theatre, this witty musical
has played to more than 700,000 people, grossed more than 60 million
dollars worldwide, and has proved to be a hit in many languages. Act 1
explores the trials and tribulations of being single, while Act 2 gives
a laugh-a-minute look at the mixed blessings of married life. To date,
forty-six men have taken the theatre stage to make surprise proposals
to their sweethearts, and, in all cases, the brides-to-be have happily
accepted. The musical touts itself as the most
"proposal-friendly" spot in town!
You'll fall in love with this intoxicating revue of modern courtship
and marriage that "provides the audience with a ripping good time"
(reviewer's quote), so make your reservations now with Visa/MasterCard
by calling (512) 847-0575. Beginning September 19, you can buy
your $13 tickets at the Box Office in the Ozona Motor Bank lobby on
River Road. Box Office hours are Monday-Friday, 1-5 PM.
Due to the adult theme, this production is suggested for mature audiences.
