The Wimberley Valley Art League (WVAL) is hosting the New Braunfels Art League in a combined art exhibition, "Two Leagues Under the Sun," at the WVAL Gallery in the Wimberley Community Center. The exhibit, featuring a wide variety of outstanding work by members of both organizations, will be on display from August 2, 2008 until September 29, 2008.

The public is invited to the free Champagne Opening Reception on Saturday, August 2nd, 5 to 7 pm at the Gallery. Entertainment will be provided by Gypsy Moon, a favorite local duo made up of Ray and Linda Sriro. The group is well known for providing an enjoyable fantasy blend of gypsy virtuosity and American Jazz.

The juror for the show is Sara Eyestone, award winning artist and instructor, who is known for the glorious colors on her palette. Her paintings are commissioned by private collectors and published internationally. Eyestone's art has been featured throughout the country in more than 50 one-woman shows, and her design titled "The Golden Lady" was chosen as the official Statue of Liberty commemorative plate. Sara Eyestone welcomes visitors from all over the world to her private gallery on the river walk in San Antonio.

The "Two Leagues Under The Sun" exhibit will be open to the public weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and is staffed by League artists on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m.  For further information, please call 847-1205 or 847-5272.
