ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"Having been trained as a printmaker and a painter, my work reflects my love for good draftsmanship, beautiful color and the use of various layering techniques and materials within each work of art. I often combine glass with painting or woodwork, sewing with painting, or printmaking with painting and drawing and glass. Experiences and objects from my life here in the Southwest along with my travels throughout the world, manifest as symbols or elements in my works. Cactuses, birds, starry or stormy skies, quilt patterns, luscious fruit and plants, along with sensuous color, hopefully convey my love for the beauty of life and my quiet optimism for the future. My goal is to make the world a more beautiful place, one piece of artwork at a time."
