The Chapel in the Hills was organized in 1949 to serve the needs of a variety of denominations. The congregation is composed of representatives of all Protestant denominations.
The Chapel has an excellent vocal choir and a three octave English Handbell choir, both with professional directors. Also serving is a full-time pastor, a full-time secretary, a part-time custodian, and a part-time nursery attendant. All other activities are performed by volunteers.
Church premises incorporate a sanctuary with a capacity of 200, a suite of six offices, a computer room, lobby northex, large receiving room, reception room complete with kitchen, Sunday School rooms, choir room, and a huge Fellowship Hall complete with kitchen.
In addition to the quarterly covered dish suppers, the Chapel has a annual Easter egg hunt for the children of Wimberley, a church picnic in May, an ice cream social in August for members and friends, dinner in the Fellowship Hall in September and Christmas Vesper Services.
