The 22nd Annual Wimberley Community Civic Club Home Tour:
Emily and Brandon Merkord, Casual Lifestyle with a Stylish Flair

Sponsored by the Wimberley Community Civic Club, the 2009 Hill Country Homes Tour for the Holidays was Friday & Saturday, November 20th and 21st from 10 AM to 5 PM. Six unique homes were featured.

Emily and Brandon Merkord, Casual Lifestyle with a Stylish Flair

This 1700 square-foot home is packed with style and flair yet remains family friendly. An interior designer by profession, Emily Merkord's talent and creative touches can be seen throughout the entire home.

It was the small town peaceful atmosphere in 1999 that made Brandon and Emily want to raise their family here.

Handmade window treatments, bed linens, and furniture slip coverings (made from painters' drop cloths) reveal the talent and resourcefulness of the homeowner. The home was decorated for the holidays; each room was done in its own theme and there were Christmas trees galore.

A flagstone patio under tree lights and a waterfall dropping into a pond create the causal feel that blends nature into the home. There is even a tree for the birds on the patio.
