THE 2009 HOME TOUR

The 22nd annual “Hill Country Home Tour” was on November 20 and 21, 2009
New this year to the Tour, the Bistro located at the Winters-Wimberley House was open for lunch from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm both days of the tour serving a sandwich with a cup of soup, cookie, and drink for $7.
The Wimberley Community Civic Club announced that the six beautiful homes selected for this year’s “Hill Country Home Tour” showcased the broad variety of homes in the Wimberley community. This year the homes offered a little something for everyone; a home builder’s custom home, a home with a theme for each room, a Woodcreek home displaying a life-time of treasures, a Woodcreek North home dressed to the nines for Christmas (could you count all the Christmas trees?), a Woodcreek North home with a southwest touch, and a Wimberley Ranch custom home with a classic touch and a view of the hill country. Since 1987, the club has provided the public the opportunity to look at some of the beautiful homes in the Wimberley area.
The Home Tour in the fall and Hobby Lobby in the spring are the two fund-raising events the Civic Club sponsors to raise money for agencies and organizations in the community each year. This past year the Civic Club gave $35,500 to 25 community organizations and scholarships to 10 graduating high school seniors.

To see homes on the 2009 tour and information about any of the Home Tours from the last 10 years, please select a year from the menu on the left.
HOBBY LOBBY 2010

The 2010 Hobby Lobby Spring Event began in February and lasts into May. Events include Dinners, Arts and Crafts, Tours and Trips, Music and Literature, Workshops and other opportunities for fun. The money raised from these events is distributed to the community in the form of donations and scholarships.

March Hats Off to Spring Promises a Variety of Events

March winds are promised to us by well-known writers and we
are hopeful they will arrive soon. Hats Off to Spring (Hobby Lobby)
events still available present a variety of opportunities to begin
thinking about and enjoying an early spring season in March.

Garden enthusiasts can still enroll in Spring Herb Gardening,
Landscaping 101, Flower Arranging, 400 Orchid Greenhouse
,and Vegetable Gardening.

If you are anxious to enjoy the company of friends old and new,
consider Bridge Lessons, Brunch & Yahtzee at Hillsedge, Hand & Foot
Card Game or try your talent at Lunch & Karaoke. If you enjoy learning
new recipes for home entertaining, sign up for Challah Bread Making.
Most of us love travel opportunities and three tours are still available in
March—the King William District Walking Tour; Bracken Village;Blue
Bell Creamery and Texas Two Step at the Broken Spoke.

Tired of the chapped skin and dried nails of winter?....there’s still a couple of spaces in the A Mini Spa Touched by Angels. Or maybe you really want to improve
your physical condition and/or mental attitude. Then you have several choices:
Feng Shui, Healing Power Yoga, and Rejuvenation. There are also several
openings that will assist you in Learning Something New. How about
Stock Charting; Jewelry Making; Cowboy Culture; Mexican Train; Back Yard Chickens; or a Clothesline Bowl? So don’t miss out on these intros to spring!
Grab your phone and pick up that Hats off to Spring book. Books are available at the Visitor's Center
