Sunset Valley Farmers Market - A Treat for Adults, Music Lovers, Kids and Dogs. (All this and Excellent Shopping, Too!)
Location: 3200 Jones Road, in Sunset Valley, Texas
The selection is impressive, even in midwinter.
Open rain or shine every Saturday morning from 9 AM to 1 PM, this farmer's market is in a location convenient to people driving from Wimberley, Kyle, Buda, Dripping Springs, Driftwood and San Marcos. All the food is locally grown, with emphasis on organic, sustainable production.

Beautiful...and organically grown.
Voted by Eating Well magazine as one of the top 5 farmers markets in the country, Sunset Valley Farmers Market won the Austin Chronicle's Best of 2007 Reader's Poll "Best Farmers' Market." As one of the top 10 farmers markets in the country, according to the Audubon Society, this market is a great resource for the Austin - Wimberley area.

It's easy to see why it's earned the accolades. Shopping takes on a festival feel with live music. What kind of music? Well, it's Austin, one of the centers of the music universe and the quality of music is usually right at the top of the scale.

With entertainment ranging from excellent musical performances to a likable, remarkably magical magician, there's something at this market for everyone.

On the food front, there's more than the fabulously fresh vegetables and homemade condiment for sale. For instance, the popular Austin bakery, Sweetish Hill, offers yummy baked goods and there's a nearly irresistible offering of pizza, empanadas and tamales. This can be a winning outdoor lunch stopover.

A little magic entertains everyone.

An additional bonus for some, Sunset Valley Farmers Market is a very dog-friendly venue. The Happy Tails Cafe is one of the highlights for the four-legged shoppers, all of whom seem pleased to see their old and new friends there.

If you enjoy the friendly presence of well-behaved, well-loved dogs, it's worthwhile just to attend this market as a spectator, but we defy you to resist some of the incredibly beautiful food on display while you're there.

Highly recommended.
