THE 4TH OF JULY PARADE IN WIMBERLEY, TEXAS!

After the last year's
ultra-wet parade, this year brought Wimberley a picture-perfect day
for the annual 4th of July parade.
The
enthusiastic, colorful, and photogenic crowd brought plenty of
spirit to the occasion. The 2008 parade included the usual favorites
like the popular Shrine clowns, Keep Wimberley Beautiful, Wimberley
Lions Club, Boy Scouts, Wimberley High School band, cheerleaders,
Junior High students, and many, many
more. An outstanding float was the entry by the Boy Scouts, the USS
Lexington that almost looked as if it were amphibious. Another crowd
favorite was the Frump Float, too much fun to miss.
The
2008
parade was the second big event of a long weekend of fun in Wimberley to celebrate
the 4th of July. The VFW Rodeo kicked off festivities the evening
before, and the parade was followed by a Jubilee. Saturday winds up
the events with the final Pro Rodeo.
