July 4th weekend, 2018
Thursday, Friday, Saturday (July 5th, July 6th & 7th, 2018)
A Texas Hill Country tradition, the Annual CPRA Sanctioned/Open
VFW Rodeo has been held for 72 years on the first weekend in
July at the VFW's rodeo grounds, Chester Franklin Arena, north of Wimberley on Jacobs Well
Rd., just off Ranch Road 12.
Once the largest outdoor rodeo in
Texas, the event still ranks near the top. This is a Cowboys
Professional Rodeo Assn. (CPRA) sanctioned/open event (Ranked "Best CPRA
Rodeo of the Year" in the 2006 CPRA Hall of Fame).
The VFW Rodeo is sponsored by Wimberley's VFW Post 6441 and Ladies
