Hello ladies and Gents. I am so happy I found this forum. My husband and I are finally moving to Wimberley from Austin. I moved here 6 years ago,and he used to take me driving all over west texas. I fell in love with Wimberley from the first moment i drove into your town. Now, My question for all of you is. Can any of you direct us to an agent in Wimberley that can help us buy the house we are VERY interested in. We literally know no one in Wimberley, so any sort of direction to someone who can help us out would be really amazing of you to do. My name is Sonja, and My husbands name is Scotty. We are excited about getting active in this forum and town. much love to you all Sonja

Sonja and Scotty: You will like living here. The people are friendly, there's a lot to do for a small town and, of course, the beauty of the area is wonderful too.As far as an Agent to help you out - there are many qualified and helpful agents in this town. Any of the Real Estate companies in town can help you to acquire that home that you want and I believe that you would be able to trust in the agents at any of the R.E. Companies to do right by you. I have previoiusly dealt with Wimberley Land Company (847-2291) and Century 21, Hill Country Properties (847-5702), and they both were great, but I also have heard good things about Jim McCrocklin & Assoc(842-2006) also. I know that I'm waffling here, not giving you a particular agency, or agent's name, but I don't think you could go wrong calling any one of the three companies I mentioned, who all employ quality agents, or any of the other agencies here in town. Good luck with your move and welcome ahead of time, to Wimberley. Post here when you're settled in and perhaps we can arrange to go have coffee at Jitter's. quote: Originally posted by Sophia: Hello ladies and Gents. I am so happy I found this forum. Hi, I think ginaj nailed it down. Those are the three biggies in town and if you're up to it, try them all. wj

I recently bought a house here in Wimberley this past July.Like you I fell in love with Wimberley from the first day I saw it 3 years ago. I used Century 21 and was very happy I did! I had to buy a house and make all the arrangements while living in the Ft. Worth area. It was no easy task! They were very helpful - especially Vera Hardy! She made my move so much easier and helped me find a wonderful hous in my price range that I just love!! Good Luck

Hi, I forgot that there is a couple in Wimberley that can also help you. go to this page and their phone # is at the top. Their interest is weighted toward the buyer more so than the seller.http://www.visitwimberley.com/betterhomebuyer/map.htm wj

Thank you all for your replies and kindness. We are checking everything out as I speak. *smile* I am so excited about moving to wimberley. The next topic I will be posting to ask questions about will be....Where your daycares are...their reputations, and price. I am also interested in meeting people there, I am sort of scared, I do not exactly look like a small town person. But Everytime I visit wimberley I get such kind and sweet smiles and responses to my questions. I love this town.... thank you all again for your responses! Sonja

Don't worry, most the people that have relocated from Houston don't look "small town" either...

Sonja: Don't worry about not looking "small town" as Wimberley is made up of Eclectic (and even Eccentric) people from all over (including Houston) and THAT is part of it's charm. You will have no trouble meeting people. I can't advise you on daycare, but you might call the Chamber of Commerce. They just might be able to help.
