My husband and I have lived in Wimberley 3-4 days per week for the past two years. We really enjoyed Papa Pasta's at South River Center. I am so disappointed to see that they closed. Does anybody know why? The food was excellent. We need an Italian food place. Bruce, Tony, anybody... are you listening?

I like Italian too but don't hold out much hope for a new place to "stick". A couple of friends over the years here who know people who tried to start restaurants in Wimberley tell me it's tough, like any other business here. It has to pay for itself with or without the tourist business from what I understand and that's a lot harder than it looks. Delivery is more expensive and you have a small group of customers to draw on.I reckon part of the price of living out in the country is losing those 5 star choices. What I want is a service to bring it all to my door.

I guess hope springs eternal. "The country" here offers so much more than "the country" in East Texas (where we spend 2-3 days per week) that I forget that I'm still in a small town.

Sakes alive! A wet election in Wimberley in May! Heck Woodcreek barely passed its own referendum back in November and now the floodgates of booze might open even wider! Oh the wickedness of it all, imagine the sight of staggering drunkards in the Brookshire parking lot. Inebriated sots passed out on the benches on the square and the soon to follow down and outers with their cardboard signs panhandling all through the construction zones. Why it's almost enough to drive one to drink.

Yes, but we will have to drive much less to drink. Cheers, Starstruck!

I see your point there Contributor and you've changed my mind. It reminds me of an old joke. What's the difference between a Catholic and a Baptist? The Catholic will speak to you at the liquor store.
