Ok, what's going on with the new bypass? It looks done but is it somehow being left to age and season? Does anyone know? I'm just dying to blast my eighteen wheeler up and down it all night long.

According to Precinct 3 Commissioner Will Conley's office, the bypass itself is pretty much complete and ready for traffic. However it's projected opening is set for mid-September. The reason for the delay is safety. TxDOT will come in and install left turn lanes for southbound RR 12 traffic and for eastbound RR 3237 traffic. Without the turn lanes left turns in either location are risky to dangerous.

Well mid September is here and I can't see that much has changed on RR 12 near the bypass entrance. I reckon the new road will remain ultra safe with no vehicles on it for a while longer.
