Is there a website specific to road conditions in Wimberley? I know the low water bridge at 1492/River Road is closed, but how about the bridge over the Blanco on RR 12? I don't plan on getting out, but in case I need to, this would be very usefull information. I'm assuming that our friends in Skyline & Paradise Hills are hunkered down; hope so. Other than frost on the ground & porches, conditions here are not that bad..........yet. How are conditions where you are?
Thanks

I can see RR12 from Skyline area. Traffic is low, but moving pretty normally. It looks like the road is dry and clear and haven't noticed any incidents. Even the steep driveway is usable - there's some ice/sleet pellets, but not enough to blanket it. It may change later, but for now it's just windy and c-c-cold.

TXDot is supposed to have a map of road conditions online. Unfortunately, today visiting the page
( http://www.dot.state.tx.us/travel/static_maps.htm )
there's a notice, "The interactive road conditions map has been taken offline due to excessive traffic. Please use the district map or the county dropdown list below to view conditions in your area. The interactive map will be restored as soon as excessive traffic subsides for this application."

I have tried the Hays County option several times and nothing loads.

Not much help when you need it. It does seem planning should have been done to enable people to view that information when it's most important, like during weather events like the one we're experiencing now.

Very frustrating and not public-service oriented...yet. Maybe these few days will help TXDot pull together a plan to communicate such critical information online.

Road condition reports are now available at TXDot. The page for Hays County is here:
http://204.64.21.201/travel/road_conditions2.htm

RM 2325, RM 3237, RR 12, 150, all are icy and travel on those roads is not advised. Additionally, RR 12 is iced over and closed between Wimberley and the Junction.

I believe the best we can get is the link M. Griffin provided http://204.64.21.201/travel/road_conditions2.htm
I *think* RR12 is listed as RM0012. RM means Ranch to Market Road, a type of secondary state highway in Texas.

Funny that the signs says RR and Tx, Dot lists it as RM. Just confusing when trying to find info.
