Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Here's a list of things we can be thankful for so far today -

So far, none of the trash piles burned thanks to the foolish removal of the burn ban has destroyed a lot of property and lives. (So far.)

This day has to go down as one of the best weather days ever.

We got a few drops of rain last week even though the river is dry and the water table is low low low, the plants are still happier.

The air is not filled with smoke from people burning piles of trash. Yet.

We have an actual grocery store within driving distance. (Remember when it was Country Boy's and they would stick new date labels on top of the expired labels for meat? Brookshire's is way way way better.)

There's a Thanksgiving Dinner free to all at the community center again. What a good thing.

People are smiling and wishing Happy Thanksgiving out there.

Pumpkin pie.

I know there's more, but these are all I have right now.

PS: Just remembered to be thankful for our fire department. We are lucky to have them.

And I would like to add thanks for the great little independently owned shops in town. I'm not a shopper and haven't looked in Wimberley shops in ages. We took a walk around yesterday and was impressed with what's out there AND how kind everyone is.

My spouse of 29 years.

That we are both still employed.

That our garden is still producing.

That we live in a country where we can speak our minds.
