Depressing as hell! I don't have any livestock to be concerned about and I am dealing with the heat by reminding myself that I made it so far so likely I can soldier on as long as I don't act a fool and jump out and exert myself in the mid-day sun. The part of the Blanco I see is low but it is still flowing and the deer around here are apparently being fed and watered because they look pretty healthy. Think the article could have included mention of the continuous debate over development and a little about how we are coping such as catching the drips from the a/c and the couple in the paper who are letting the llamas come inside during the day . Houston, in the suburbs, does still look pretty green (don't think they are on water restrictions yet) and I didn't see any coyotes out on the lawns.

Even established red/spanish oaks are taking a beating; they are losing leaves & limbs. Flameleaf sumacs are browning out. Yucca is dropping leaves.
