We've been invaded by tiny ants - in the kitchen, bathrooms & utility room, all water sources. I'm guessing that's what they're seeking. i've used the little combat baits & they seem to work OK for awhile but need to be replaced after a week or so. Since there doesn't seem to be any rain on it's way, I'm wondering if there's something else I can do. Any ideas?

We had those buggers a few years ago; the infestion would come and go. At first, I used a granular ant bait - the bait would disappear and we would not seem them for a while. At some point they would not take that bait. I tried a couple of others, like the ones you tried. Again it would work for a while. Eventually, out of frustration when they ended up iin our bed, we cleaned the house top to bottom, put out several different kinds of bait (cut squares of foil and placed something different on each: borax powder, ant powder, diatomaceous earth along the trails and paths; wherever our domestic critters could not get to) and also a number of liquid bait traps and solid baits, including borax balls. We tried very hard to keep the countertops/sinks clean to eliminate the food source for the ants and hopefully force them to take the bait.It did work - we have not seen them since. It was not inexpensive for all the baits and a pain to keep the place spotless. In hindsight, these ants definately appeared to prefer the liquid bait, but I'm not sure if they would adapt to that over time, like the first baits I tried. Good luck!

If they are the tiny tiny little light colored ants you may have a bigger problem than you want. My friend had them invade her house. They were everywhere! Even crawling on the kitchen counters, coffee pot, toaster. etc. She had an exterminator come out and he said this particular ant survives in HUGE colonies and because they are so tiny they can get anywhere and usually end up building sub-colonies in the walls, under the house....it takes vigilance and professional treatments to get RID of them. Otherwise they wonder off for a while but always come back. They are VERY tiny as I said, and light in color. I hope your problem is with a different kind of ant. Good luck.
