We really need and appreciate volunteers to provide foster homes for various situations.
Many times our Animal Control Office will call with a dog that we know is just lost and we need a foster home until the owners can see our signs or read the lost and found ads we place.
Other times a dog is found here and we know it is only a matter of time before the owners are located and a temporary home is needed until then. Some dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted also need foster homes.
In the spring we especially need foster homes for the many puppies and kittens that are abandoned.
During holidays like New Year's and July 4th when there are fireworks we are overwhelmed with dogs that have run from the noise. Especially large dogs are so traumatized by the painful vibration in their ears, they run for miles and many are never found.
