Kevin Welch is a literate, charismatic singer-songwriter who has made Nashville his home but not his sound. His songwriting is stellar and his songs have been recorded by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Johnny Cash, The Judds, Waylon Jennings, and Roger Miller, to name a few.
Kevin Welch recorded two records for Warner Brothers and then started his own label, Dead Reckoning. The label showcased friends and colleagues such as Kieran Kane, Harry Stinson, Mike Henderson, and Tammy Rogers, and became a very successful venture in Nashville back when the days of Indie companies were unheard of, producing 21 records.
Welch has a wondrous voice and way of telling a story that brings the audience into his fold. He tours throughout Europe and the States.
His latest release "Kane Welch Kaplin" (a collaborative release with Kieran Kane and Fats Kaplin), held the number one slot on the Americana charts for several weeks.
Welch moved to the Wimberley area, in 2008. The following year he recorded "A Patch Of Blue Sky", his first solo project in 8 years. The recording features Texas musicians as well as his son Dustin, who played banjo and slide guitar, and his daughter Savannah, who appeared with her band the Trishas.
