Discover

Jacobs Well Natural Area is Hays County's first nature preserve that hosts a wealth of ecological beauty and diversity. From birding trails in the north uplands to aquatic life below there is much to be enjoyed over the 81+ acres. Located just outside of Wimberley, it is open year round for exploration.

The Cultural and natural heritage of Jacob's Well has made if an integral part of the Wimberley experience. It is a beautiful place to swim, observe birds and many other kinds of wildlife, take photos, hike, for geocaching, or have a family picnic.

Tours are led by a member of the Texas Master Naturalists. They will discuss the history of the area, Native American and pioneer impact, geology of the region, the importance of water conservation in an area prone to weather extremes, native plants and other items of interest. These are guided tours and last approximately one hour. Contact the staff for more information.

Music

Live Music: Hal Ketchum is at Susanna"s Kitchen this February

The live music scene radiates from Austin's Sixth Street into Wimberley, the Texas Hill Country and beyond.

We have the famed Rupert Neve residing in Wimberley; his expertise can be seen in the professional recording consoles at Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio.
Wimberley has a growing number of eateries that offer live music throughout the year. Susanna's Kitchen offers up a smoke free/alcohol free setting once a month for music lovers and just down the road in Fischer there are open air concerts taking place at the Fischer Haus Cantina. In late fall the Rice festival takes place at the Fischer Dance Hall where quite a few movie scenes have been filmed along with untold weddings, hoedowns and get-togethers. If you are new to the area or a long time resident we hope you enjoy the music that is available to you and please tell your friends about Visitwimberley.com.
