Jim and Viola Foehner Purchased Home at First Sight
After living in Austin for 35 years, Jim Foehner always wanted to live in the Hill Country. He had always looked at different properties in the Hill Country, but never openly suggested to Viola that he wanted to move here. Jim surprised her with the idea in April 2007. Jim wanted a hilltop home with a decent view and this home fit the bill because of the hilltop location. They were into their new home by June 2007. Viola was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Hill Country reminds her of home.
The Southwest flavor in the home comes from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jim enjoys doing his own landscaping and Viola likes to sew and enjoys different kinds of arts and crafts along with quilting. Viola made the Dream Catchers throughout the home, the leather wall hanging above the TV, all the window treatments throughout the home. Other pieces in the home were made by family members. Jim and Viola have added a flagstone patio and walkway as part of the many landscaping projects. At present, Jim and Viola have a combination of about 100 hanging baskets, plants/cactus in pots and some in the ground throughout the back, side, and front yards.
