established in 1875 as the Germania Farmer Verein (club), is probably the oldest farmers' cooperative in Texas. It's at the end of Anhalt Rd. which intersects Hwy 46 about 4 mi W of Hwy 281 in Spring Branch. Worth getting there. The current dance floor was laid in 1908 and its events are few but fabulous. One standout is the Oktoberfest. Check the events schedule on their website.
