McQueeney Hall

McQueeney Hall

is located in an old storefront on Farm to Market Road 725 in McQueeney, Texas. The hall, first built as a general store in 1914, when the town had roughly forty residents, was beautifully renovated in 2004 and now boasts live dancing music every Saturday, with doors opening by 7:30 p.m. and the music kicking off at 8 p.m. There is typically a $10 cover charge and tables can be reserved by emailing mcqueeneyhall@gmail.com. Be careful to note all reserved tables must be claimed by 8 p.m. or they will be released.
No food or alcoholic refreshments are served at the Hall, but you can bring in your beverage of choice (there is a convenience store nearby if you forget) and the lovely staff will keep it behind the bar in their cooler for you. Setups are also available. The space is a glimpse into art deco stylings of the past, with a pressed tin ceiling, hardwood flooring sprinkled gingerly with dance floor wax, and large branched uplight chandeliers. Bathrooms are also clean, roomy, and comfortable. The atmosphere here is friendly and whether the crowd is large or smaller, the regulars are always glad to have dancers and music lovers. McQueeney Hall is a great venue to enjoy classic Texas music, practice two-steppin', and get out of the city a little ways. Invite some friends along or make new ones there, and enjoy a bit of Texas gone by within a small quiet town in the Texas Hill Country.
